Pet Food Ingredients Flint River Ranch formulas are made from the highest quality, human-grade ingredients and do not contain low-grade meats, grain by-products, color additives or chemical preservatives (BHA/BHT/Ethoxyquin). The food is naturally preserved with mixed tocopherols and ascorbic acid (Vitamins E and C). Some authorities indicate that Vitamin C is not required; however, we feel it is very important in supporting vitamin balance and to help handle daily stress and environmental pollution. By feeding your dog or cat Flint River Ranch quality products, you will see a noticeable difference in your petıs health, skin, coat, and energy level. And because Flint River Ranch Dog and Cat Foods are concentrated, pet owners will find less odor and stool clean-up. DOG FOOD INGREDIENTS CAT FOOD INGREDIENTS Extrusion vs. Oven-Baking In addition to using only top-quality, human-grade ingredients, Flint River Ranch Pet Food products are oven-baked to ensure the optimal nutritional value for your pet. Most companies prepare pet food by steaming it as quickly as possible—usually less than three minutes—and then extruding it under extreme pressure through a metal die. This process expands the food with air, creating a uniform shape. This extruded food, cooked in a very short time, is usually almost "raw" and requires the addition of what many nutritionists feel are harmful chemical preservatives (Ethoxyquin, BHA, and BHT) to maintain a reasonable product shelf-life. These chemical additives may be associated with dry skin, allergic reactions, dental disease, poor health, and degenerative organ dysfunction. Flint River Ranch uses a unique oven-baking process to preserve the maximum nutritional content of our dog and cat foods. Oven-baking changes hard-to-digest starches into easy-to-digest dextrins, which acts as a sort of "pre-digestion" of the kibble food, resulting in less strain on your pet's system and a greater degree of food absorption. In the oven-baking process, a small 2" sized biscuit is baked, moves slowly through the oven, then is broken into smaller, irregular kibble ranging in size from tiny morsels to about _". The smaller morsels are important: they will digest quickly in your pet's system, providing immediate nutritional benefits. The larger, crunchy kibble naturally cleans teeth, exercises the gums, and freshens breath. We put quality first, so your pets get the wholesome foods they deserve, with the fresh-baked taste they love! |
